Coming Up: Topfer Theatre Opening Weekend
As a resident of South Austin, I frequently pass by the new theatre and anxiously await the final touches. The progression has been fantastic to watch, and by the looks of the final renderings, I haven't seen anything yet.
The newly renovated venue will include, not only three intimate venues including the new Topfer Theatre with Karen Kuykendall stage, but also educational classrooms, rehearsal studios, roduction facilities, administrative offices and a costume and prop shop. To top it off, the lobby and open air event plaza and rain garden, measuring over 8600 sf alone, looks to be nothing shy of a fantastic, top of the line event space to seat 430 guests.
Finally, the images are scheduled to come alive, Thursday, September 27th for a black tie grand opening gala. There will also be a campus wide celebration on Saturday, September 29th. Check out their website for more event details.
At DEN, we proudly support our regional theatre through both donation and participation on the board by Broker, Bryan Cady. Austin's creativity and imaginative talent is soemthing to be appreciated, nutured and built upon. Congratulations to Zack Theatre for continuing to bring Austin such grand performances.
