North Austin
Allandale
North of Rosedale, Allandale is located between Anderson Lane (North), North Loop (South), Burnet Road (East), and MoPac (West). According to the July 2011 issue of Austin Monthly, Allandale is one of the 22 best neighborhoods/developments to live in Austin. Allandale, an established neighborhood within the city limits of Austin, has roots extending back to the 1930’s.
Brentwood
Brentwood is a neighborhood in north central Austin, Texas. The area is bordered by Burnet Road on the west, Lamar Blvd on the east, 45th Street on the south and Justin Lane on the north. The City of Austin annexed most of the neighborhood in 1946 and purchased the land next to Brentwood Elementary to establish the neighborhood's Brentwood Park in 1951.
Bryker Woods
Bryker Woods is an older central city neighborhood with a mix of young and old families. It is a predominantly single family neighborhood composed of mostly small homes in good condition. Historic bridges span Shoal Creek connecting Bryker Woods to the University of Texas campus and the central business district.
Hyde Park
Hyde Park was developed in the 1890s by Monroe Martin Shipe, as a self-sufficient community. As one of Central Austin’s historic neighborhoods, located just north of UT, it is a city within a city.
Mount Bonnell
Mount Bonnell is the highest point within the city limits of Austin at 785 feet above sea level. The Mount Bonnell neighborhood was first developed in the mid 1980’s; the neighborhood is located off RM 2222 and Mount Bonnell Road in West Austin. Undoubtedly the best views of Austin’s lush landscape and Lake Austin the homes range from the $700's to over $5 million. In addition to the existing homes new home construction is available on million dollar lots.
Pemberton Heights
The Pemberton Heights neighborhood was developed by The Austin Land Company between 1927 to the early 1940s in 12 sections. Located between Lamar and Mopac and 38th and 24th street, this location makes this neighborhood one of the top “where to live” locations in Austin.
Rosedale
Rosedale neighborhood is located in the northern part of Central Austin bordered by 38th Street to the south, Shoal Creek to the west, North Loop to the north, and Lamar Boulevard to the east. Once farm and dairy land in the 1860’s, the majority of the homes in the Rosedale area were built during the 1930s and 1940’s creating the delightful charm of the area. The neighborhood's location makes it one of the most desirable of Austin's neighborhoods and is evident by the many renovation projects and new construction throughout the neighborhood.
